David Bellar is a Professor and Director of the School of Kinesiology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry from John Carroll University, a Master of Education degree from John Carroll University, and a PhD with a focus in Exercise Physiology from Kent State University. Bellars research interests are in understanding how nutrients can affect post exercise muscle performance, hormonal profile, and inflammation/immune function, which are inspired by his career as a track and field coach. He was the 2017 recipient of the United States Track and Field Joe Vigil Sport Science award. He was named a Fellow of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (FNSCA) in 2017.
