Mick Stierli is a Sergeant with the New South Wales Police Force based in Sydney, Australia, where he performs the role of Health and Fitness officer, Physical Training Instructors Coordinator, and Weapons and Defensive Tactics Instructor. He initiated the creation of the Physical Training Instructors (PTI) program that was designed, developed, and implemented within the organization as a result of identifying corporate deficiencies in previous methods and practices with regards to training principles and the training provided. This program included design and integration across the organization of curriculum development, training delivery, and mentoring of the PTIs throughout the state of New South Wales. Additionally, he developed and implemented the New South Wales Police RECON program, which integrates a high performance sports return to play model and applies it in a return to duty setting. Stierli has extensive experience working with elite athletes and is currently a member of the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs High Performance Unit in the National Rugby League (NRL) Competition.
