Matthew Crawley is the Head of Combat Sports, PerformanceCoach, and Research Lead for Sports Academy at The Star.He formerly served a Strength and Conditioning Coach at theUltimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Performance Institute.With over 12 years in the strength and conditioning industry, hebrings experience with professional organizations, such as UFC,National Football League (NFL), National Hockey League (NHL),and National Lacrosse League (NLL), as well as Olympic, tactical,collegiate, high school, and youth sectors. Crawley has presentedat multiple regional and state conferences for the National Strengthand Conditioning Association (NSCA), and published peer-reviewedarticles and other scholarly publications. He holds Masters degreesin Human Health and Performance and Applied Nutrition, and iscurrently working towards a PhD in Leadership Studies: Healthand Human Performance. Crawleys mission is to use evidenceandapplied-based research to influence the implementation ofphysical preparation in elite athletes with an interdisciplinaryathlete-centered approach to maximize their athletic potential. Heis a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction(CSCS,*D) and Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach(RSCC) with the NSCA.
