After completing an undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, Tara De Leon received a Masters degree in Human Movement: Sports Conditioning from A.T. Still University. De Leon was a volunteer strength coach for the United States Naval Academy and later went on to work as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for Loyola University, Maryland. She is currently working as the Personal Training Director at Edgewater Fitness and is in her 18th year as a professor of health, fitness, and exercise studies at Anne Arundel Community College. De Leon holds certifications as a Level 1 Performance Coach through the United States of America Weightlifting (USAW), Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), Functional Movement Screen (FMS), Girls Gone Strong Pre and Postnatal Coach certification, as well as 12 other fitness certifications.
The NSCA is a recognized 501(c)(3) educational nonprofit dedicated to advancing strength and conditioning research and education for all people.
