Rick Ferkel is a Professor in the Department of Physical Education and Sport at Central Michigan University. Along with his higher education experience, Ferkel taught K-12 health and physical education and has had multiple high school coaching and strength and conditioning positions. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education Teacher Education at Bowling Green State University, Master of Education degree in Educational Administration at Ashland University, and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Physical Education and Sport Science at Texas Tech University. He holds the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and NSCA Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT) certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Ferkels research agenda is focused on health-related fitness education to induce behavioral change for lifetime fitness and wellness.
