ERP Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program

The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program recognizes and distinguishes academic institutions that offer at least a Master’s degree with standardized, approved graduate strength and conditioning curricula that is designed to prepare students for the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certifications. Recognition can be achieved for applied curriculum, research curriculum, or both. A full list of required content areas can be found in the Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program application.

Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program Details and Requirements

  • Recognition that meets the minimum requirements within the specified curriculum is valid for three years.
  • There is a one-time administrative fee of $500 for the first three-year period of recognition.
  • Schools that have not allowed their recognition to expire, are eligible for ERP renewal by submission of the renewal ERP application for a reduced renewal fee of $400 for the next three years.
  • Schools that have not renewed their recognition and allowed their recognition to lapse may resubmit a complete application for the initial fee of $500. 
  • Schools obtaining recognition for multiple programs will receive 5% off of the fee for each additional recognition approved.
  •  The institution applying for recognition must be regionally accredited within the U.S. (or international equivalent). 
  • The institution must have a graduate strength and conditioning educational program that is part of a curriculum that offers at least a Master’s degree, with a major or concentration related to strength and conditioning and/or sport performance. 
  • The institution must have a CSCS who is a full-time employee involved in the teaching of the educational program as a member of the teaching faculty.

How To Apply

  1. Download and complete the form-fillable PDF Graduate Strength and Conditioning Program application.
  2.  Send one hard copy of the application with original signatures, along with additional required materials, such as syllabi. 
  3.  The administrative fee is due with each application.
  4.  Applications are reviewed two times per year. Application postmark deadlines are April 1 and October 1 each year.
  5.  Applicants will be notified of approval/non-approval by May 15 or November 15 each year.
