8:00 AM - 9:00 AM Eccentric vs Concentric Contractions: What’s New? What You Know?! What You Need to Know! by Joel Krentz, PhD Classroom Specific adaptations resulting from isolated eccentric (ECC) vs concentric (CON) training have been well documented over the last couple decades, with a majority of this research having been performed in controlled laboratory settings. This session will review what is traditionally "known" about the study of ECC and CON contractions and will highlight recent advances in this area that pertain specifically to more traditional and applicable (gym setting) training methodologies.

The talk will go through a 6-step process on how to utilize the warm up to prepare;mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially. |
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Coping with Shift Work by Brad Gerbrandt, MSc, CSCS Classroom This session will highlight the physiological implications of working in a high stress, shiftwork environment. It will offer strategies used to mitigate the effects that shiftwork has on the body such as polyphasic sleep schedules and deliberate nutrition and fitness plans used by shift workers. |
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Coaching for Success Using Online Methods by Kari Schneider, MSc, CSCS Classroom Learn how coaching your athletes and clients online can benefit you and them. An online coaching option can be a solution that allows you to have another income and help more clients than you could have managed otherwise. Learn how to best coach with video and periodized plans for happy athletes and clients due to their results. Discover ways to maximize your time and take on more clients. Explore coaching in-person and online to increase athlete progress and independence. Consider ways to reduce the number of in-person clients while increasing your income. |

2:00 PM - 3:00 PM The Application of the Four Main Strongman Implements and Their Transfer to Improvements in the Weight Room for Young Athletes by Chris McDole Performance Gym This presentation will focus on the applicaiton and progression of the strongman implements when training athletes for improvements in strength in the extensor chain, anaerobic energy systems, their improvement in core/grip strength, and their use as indicator exercises for traditional barbell movements. |
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Self Massage/Rolling for Optimal Performance by Kari Schneider, MSc, CSCS Brown/Gold Gym Discover the key rolling/self massage techniques to prevent injury and manage imbalances. Neck, lats, back, hips, IT band, calves, feet and more. Explore practical ways to improve movement for training, manage tight areas, reduce trigger points and relieve tension. This is one of the most empowering tools for athletes and clients to learn to keep their body functioning and feeling the best. Simple techniques that can be demonstrated, taught and repeated with athletes in a 3 step approach. Use these techniques to prevent injuries and to determine if chronic tension needs further care or treatment. |
