Overview

The Strength and Conditioning Track Powered by the NSCA is being held in conjunction with the OAHPERD Spring 2022 Convention. 

  • Registration fees for the strength and conditioning track are included in the convention registration. 
  • OAHPERD membership fee waived for NSCA members only.  NSCA members only pay $75 + fee to register by April 4, 2022!

Event Itinerary - Monday, April 11
9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
Working with Adults Over 60 to Maintain Body Confidence
by Nancy Sengel, NSCA-CPT

This presentation will include specific personal training modalities when working with the older adult population. Nancy will incorporate over 30 years of training experience to demonstrate her unique training protocols she has developed.

10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
Start to Finish: Assessment, Planning, Periodization, Implementation, and Evaluation
by Colin Roberts, MS, CSCS

Coach Roberts will discuss his yearly training cycle when working with multiple sports at the high school level. He will highlight yearly periodization and how to apply to multiple sports at the same time while training in the same facility.

3-D ABS
by Mike Griffith, MSPT, CSCS

Mike will use a hands-on approach demonstrating creative core exercises while training the sagittal, frontal, and transverse planes of motion. The audience will experience new exercises and be able to apply to their workout for the clients immediately.

2:30 PM - 4:00 PM
Training the Collegiate Female Student-Athlete
by Keeton Peery, MS, CSCS

Keeton will discuss his yearly training protocols for the female college basketball player. He not only works as an assistant coach but is also the strength and conditioning coach for the team. The presentation will include detailed yearly training along with hands-on demonstrations.
